Purple Oldsmobile From 1971 – $12,000
This little fact might only be known to die-hard Hot Wheels fans but during the first ten years of Hot Wheels production vehicles were known as “redline” cars. This term comes directly from the red line that was put on Hot Wheels tires until 1978.
And out of all of them, this purple Oldsmobile 442 from 1971 is considered one of the rarest redline Hot Wheels and is worth around $12,000. The model is rather common, it is common which makes this one rare since only a few were made at Mattel’s Hong Kong facility.
5 Ed Shaver Blue AMX From 1969 – $10,000
The Blue AMX from 1969 is worth $10,000 and was made in the United Kingdom in collaboration with race car driver Ed Shaver. The model is a standard AMX and the only thing adding true value to this Hot Wheels are the graphics.
If you find this, make sure the car still has the original Ed Shaver decals and of course, this one is also a “red line”, making it extra hard to find. This one is considered one of the “holy grails” of Hot Wheels collections.
