The smallest country in the world is usually cited as a must-see attraction for tourists. While we won’t deny that Vatican City is full of rich history that spans centuries and, of course, is the headquarters of the Roman Catholic Church.
The 109 acres of space is bustling with bodies and as “The Chicago Tribune” accurately put it, “Overtourism [is] gripping the great treasures of humanity.” So expect only to notice a sea of nearly 10 million bodies and their camera phones when you visit rather than be able to appreciate this holy site.
