Déjà vu
Tim had been driving buses for years but never had encountered an alert like this. It told them that all drivers needed to be on the lookout for two particular people. The first was a 3-year-old boy. And the second — the suspect — was a man, roughly 25 years of age, wearing a black hoodie and jeans.
Instantly, the bus driver’s mind went straight to the calm young man and the crying child. Could they be who this alert was meant for? Tim knew his next move could save lives or make him look like a fool.
Description
So, he had to make sure that what he suspected was true. Tim Watson was a father of two; his kids were 17 and 21 years old at the time. And he used his paternal instincts to figure out whether or not the young child he saw minutes ago was in danger.
And while the crying boy hadn’t asked for help and the young man accompanying him seemed relaxed, something didn’t feel right. “The child was described as a 3-year-old boy with a dark blue shirt, light blue plaid shorts, and red Crocs,” Tim told The Mercury News.
