While working with Linkin Park he started a hip-hop-based side-project called Fort Minor and released an album, “The Rising Tied” in 2005. Its No.4 hit single, “Where’d You Go”, reached the top of the Hot 100 charts.

He contributed vocals to songs such as ‘Bleed It Out,’ ‘Hands Held High,’ and ‘In-between’ in Linkin Park’s “Minutes to Midnight 2007”. In ‘Hit Parader, he was ranked 72nd among the Top 100 Metal Vocalists of All Time.

Shinoda’s next public artwork show, ‘Glorious Excesses (BORN),’ was opened in Los Angeles at the Japanese American National Museum in 2009. The show featured nine new artworks and a limited signing on the opening night.
