Cutler was inspired to begin bodybuilding and began training with Marcos Rodriguez. Cutler finished second in the 1992 Gold’s Gym Worcester Bodybuilding Championships.
He won the Arnold Classic title in 2003, 2003, and 2004 and was second to Ronnie Coleman in Mr. Olympia for the times before he claimed the title in 2006.
Cutler won Olympia in 2007 for the second consecutive year. After beating Dexter Jackson in 2009, Cutler became the third Mr. Olympia.
He won his fourth Mr. Olympia in 2011, defeating Phil Heath. He finished second to Heath at Mr. Olympia 2011. He has been featured throughout his career in numerous fitness magazines like Flex, Muscular Design, and Muscle and Fitness.
