The law is made for a fair and orderly society. As important as laws are, not everyone could memorize each one. But this never seemed to be a problem since most of it is pretty common sense. We all know what is wrong and what is right.

But did you know that there are some weird laws? What may seem like normal behavior to you may be something illegal in a certain state. Here, we have gathered some of the weirdest and strangest US state laws that are still on the books today.

Alabama

In Alabama, it is illegal to impersonate a priest in public. This law was enacted in 1965. The same law is applied towards impersonating nuns, rabbis, and other religious figures. The state pays a high respect towards these figures.

This means that when in Alabama, you can not dress up as one – whether it’s for Halloween or a play. You also could not use any accouterments of religious rituals. Doing so is considered a misdemeanor.
