Tennessee Tuxedo the adorable penguin was as cute as he was amusing. Despite having a wonderful sponsor, the cartoon lasted only three years.
General Mills sponsored and Underdog sponsored this cartoon. This show was expensive to produce at around $125,000 an episode. Therefore, it needed the support and sponsorship of a major company. Tennessee’s appeal remains strong, even though the merchandise is no longer available.

11 The Jetsons
Hanna-Barbera was responsible for The Jetsons. It was a space-age spin-off of The Flintstones.
Animation professionals didn’t cut corners on production costs. Each episode averaged around $300,000. The producers wanted to make the show completely devoid of any social commentary despite its space colonization themes. This was to keep it child-friendly.
While Disney’s ABC original series did not last as long as other shows it was, it still left an impression. The Jetsons (1990) was one of many attempts to make a movie. It cost $20.3 million.
