Top 10 Women of Star Trek & Where Are They Now

4 Kirstie Alley

THEN Kirstie alley made her movie debut with Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. She was Lieutenant Saavik, a Vulcan Starfleet officer. She did not join the sequels and no one knew why. Later, she stated that she was offered less money to play those roles than in The Wrath of Khan. She declined. It was cheaper for a more prominent role, so it makes sense. They wanted her to appear in Star Trek The Next Generation at another time.

NOW Alley was fortunate enough to collaborate with John Travolta on Look Who’s Talking, and its sequels. Two Emmy Awards were won by Alley for Cheers and one each for her performance in David’s Mother. In 1995, she was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Dancing with the Stars was another highlight of her career. Alley was partnered by Maksim Chmerkovskiy and made it to second place. Hines Ward won the trophy that year. They were eliminated as the seventh and final pair.

3 Persis Khambatta

THEN Persis Khmbatta, an Indian model, started her film career in Star Trek: The Motion Picture as Lieutenant Ilia. Khambatta plays Ilia, the Deltan navigator on the Enterprise. This movie was originally intended to be a pilot for TV, but Roddenberry advised her that she would need to shave her entire head in order to film it.

NOW (Deceased) Khambatta, who was visiting Germany in 1980, was badly injured in a car accident. It left a large scar on her head. She died in 1998 from a heart attack after starring in a Bollywood movie and guest roles on TV shows.
