8 Producers Pre-Approved Their Wardrobe
It is not a coincidence that contestants often wear the exact same shirt as their tribe. Survivor clothing must be approved by producers before it can be worn.
Producers often choose a particular color for contestants to wear. They will wear orange, or similar colors to red and yellow if they are in an orange tribe. This is to assist viewers in identifying which contestants belong to which tribe. Contestants are required to bring at least one outfit with them to the island before the show. Producers will inspect each contestant’s wardrobe to ensure it suits their character.
7 The Idea Was From The ’90s
While we all know Survivor from its American counterpart that aired in 2000, it was only a decade ago that the original concept for Survivor was presented. Charlie Parsons, the U.K.’s original creator of the idea, came up with it in 1994.
In 1997, the first TV show to be based on this idea was launched. Expedition Robinson was the name of the show. It followed the same format as previous shows: contestants were placed in survival situations and then everyone voted for a winner week after week. It is still being broadcast.
