Southside with You is another romantic Hollywood movie. Southside with You, an American biographical romance drama film directed and written by Richard Tanne in his feature film debut.
This film was inspired by Michelle Obama and Barack Obama’s first date. Southside with You is a story about a summer in 1989, when a young associate at a law firm named Barack Obama tried to seduce Michelle Robinson (Tika Sumpter). They went on a date that saw them travel from Chicago’s Art Institute to see Spike Less’s Do The Right Thing and finally to their first kiss outside of an Ice Cream Parlor.
