6 The 60s and 70s

Sam was able to get more roles in front of the camera as the years went from the 60s and 70s. He had to wait a while before he was able to play the role he wanted. Sam appeared on several TV shows including F.B.I., and Land of the Giants. Bracken’s World. Lancer. A small part was also played by Sam in “The Games.”

Elliott’s first TV appearance was as Dan Kenyon on the 1969 show, “Judd For the Defense” in an episode called, “The Crystal Maze”. In the same year, Elliott also appeared in Lancer’s episode, “Death Bait,” where he played Renslo. Elliott was the lead character in Mission: Impossible’s 1970-71 TV Season.

5 An Increasing Television Career

Elliott was never afraid to audition for films and was able to land supporting roles. However, a lot of his roles were in television shows. His roles became juicier over time. He started with a 13-episode regular role in Mission: Impossible. He was then offered the role of Evel Knievel’s title character on TV.

Elliott was TV’s “It Guy” between 1976 and 1977 and was already at the top of his career. In the miniseries ‘Once an Eagle’, he played Sam Damon, the main character. It was an adaptation of the Anton Myrer war novel. Sam was able to appear alongside Amy Irving, Kim Hunter, and Melanie Griffith.
