8 The Secret In Their Eyes
Chiwetel Emofor, Nicole Kidman, and Julia Roberts are the stars of Billy Ray’s 2015 adaptation of the Argentine film The secret in their eyes. Eduardo Sacheri is the author of the original movie. This film has enough dark thrills, spills, and suspense to keep audiences on their edge.
The story centers on FBI agents trying to solve the mystery surrounding Jess’ (Roberts) daughter’s death after they stumble upon the crime scene. The movie is heartbreaking and has an interesting plot. However, the American remake was not as well received by critics as the original.

7 Dinner for Schmucks
What happens if you combine Steve Carell with Paul Rudd. Pure magic. Dinner to Schmucks was released to the public in 2010. However, audiences did not realize that it was a remaking of a 1998 French film.
Le Diner de Cons focuses on an overworked executive trying to make it to the top. He’s invited to a dinner intended for idiots. The idea is fascinating and explodes when Rudd or Carell are involved.
CBS Paramount Pictures was unable to make up their $69M investment at the box office, despite an excellent cast and Austin Powers director, Jay Roach.
Remake of: Le Diner de Cons
Original Country: France
Worldwide Gross of US Remake: $86.9 million
