Top 10 Exotic Pets of Rich and Famous Celebrities

A dog is a man’s best buddy, as they say. Celebrities might think otherwise. You might find a chicken to be your best friend or a tiger to keep you warm during those cold winter nights. Celebrities on A-List have been known to choose something different from traditional pets over the years.

Hollywood has no limits when it comes to pets. From Tippi Hedren’s best tiger pal to Tori Spelling’s companion chicken and Nicolas’ albino king cobra — Hollywood knows no boundaries. Some animals get more likes on Facebook than anyone else! But there are some downsides. They are expensive to buy and can cause damage to your furniture.

10 Tippi Hedren

Tippi Hedren plays a lioness in movies, but maybe she got her Hollywood animal instincts through her pets. Dakota Johnson’s grandmother has been a long-time fan of lions and other tigers. She invited them into her home.

Johnson confirmed in 2020 that Johnson’s maw maw still houses around 15 large cats. Hedren’s home is the Shambala Preserve in California, which is a sanctuary for animals. Hedren, who is now 90, doesn’t intend to stop caring for her animals anytime soon. She’s a big cat lover and is one of the most loved people in the world.

9 Mike Tyson

Mike Tyson is perhaps the most well-known celebrity who has exotic pets. In 1992, while in prison, Tyson spent $71,000 to purchase a Kenyan tiger.

Tyson had Kenya for 16 years and told, “I did own a pet Tiger, she was called Kenya and she weighed around 550 lbs. I had a deep affection for her. She slept with me, I stayed with her, and I kept my room. She stayed with my family for sixteen years. However, she grew too old and I had the need to get rid of her because her eyes and her head were getting worse. Oh, and she also ripped off the arm of someone.”
