An official recording artist
Kenny soon attended a songwriting showcase for Capricorn Records, an independent record label that recently started a country music division in Nashville. Little did he know that this would make him a singing star for good.
Because of his performance, Capricorn immediately signed him up to their label, making Kenny an official recording artist. Under Capricorn Records, Kenny was able to release his debut album, In My Wildest Dreams, in 1994.
Debut album
Kenny was able to sell 10,000 copies. Although it was not a mega sale, it was 10 times the number of sales compared to his self-produced album. It seemed like there was no way but up for Kenny as a rising country singer.
He already got his record label, released a debut studio album, and was able to make a good sale out of it. But not long after Kenny released his album, his record label, Capricorn Records, announced that they were shutting down their country music division.
