Kenny Chesney’s Dating Life Is Just As Interesting As His Love Songs

Looking for bigger opportunities

Kenny moved to Nashville, Tennessee, in 1990. Nashville is known in the world as “Music City” and is the epicenter of country music. If he wanted to be a big country singer, Nashville is definitely the place to start.

The first thing Kenny did after settling in is to look for gigs. He knew that he had to play live music as much as he can if he wanted to get himself noticed in Nashville. He was able to land a gig at The Turf, a rowdy downtown bar.

Getting noticed

Kenny soon became their resident performer as he became a favorite of the bar’s partying customers. Kenny’s regular performance at The Turf began to catch the attention of people in the music business. Eventually, he got that one big phone call that he was waiting for.

Clay Bradley from BMI Records was calling to see if he was interested to do a meeting with Troy Tomlison of Opryland. Troy immediately saw Kenny’s potential and signed him up for a songwriting contract.
