A sports player
During his teenage years, Kenny was actually a big sports fan. When he was a young boy, he was an active baseball player. When he attended high school, he joined the football team. Kenny was the wide receiver for Gibbs High School in Tennessee.
Back then, Kenny had no idea that he was bound to be a country music singer. He even had his eyes set on a professional football career. But thankfully, things went in a different direction, otherwise, we would not be blessed with his talent.
A different career choice
It was not until Kenny turned 18 that he picked up a guitar for the first time. He had no idea that learning how to play would someday change his life. As Kenny learned how to play the guitar, he fell in love with music and even started to write songs.
You may think that Kenny has found his true passion by then. But at that time, Kenny never viewed his passion and talent in music as a career path. Kenny took up a degree in advertising at East Tennessee State University.
