Allen’s first regular-season game against the Baltimore Ravens was later that year. Allen finished the season with 74 passing yards. The Bills announced in September that Allen would be starting the week against Los Angeles Chargers.
Allen was named team captain in 2019, his first year. Allen led the Bulls to victory over the New York Jets the first week. He leads the team to 17 unanswered, despite the Bills being down by 16 points.
Allen was one of 77 NFL players who tested positive for COVID-19 in 2020. The laboratory that did the testing had mishandled the results and all 77 of the false positives were later found to be false positives.
He began the season strong with more than 300 yards of passing in his first three games, including wins over the New York Jets and Miami Dolphins.
