Lockett was selected by the Seattle Seahawks in the third round of the 2015 NFL Draft.

To select Lockett the Seahawks traded their third, fourth, fifth- and sixth-round picks (95th and 112th, respectively) to the Washington Redskins to make room for the #69 pick.

Lockett’s first NFL appearance was against the Denver Broncos. It was the first touchdown for the team in the preseason.

Lockett was awarded a $31.8 million, three-year contract extension by the Seahawks that will continue through the 2021 season. In the three first games, he had 12 receptions and 196 receiving yards. He also recorded a touchdown receiving in each of the games.

Lockett caught only one pass in week 1 against Cincinnati Bengals. It was however for 44 yards and a touchdown in the fourth quarter of the 21-20 victory.
